Kunstverket har en helt unik historie fra sin konseptuelle unnfangelse til det ble kjøpt av en av landets fremste private kunstsamlere. Hele denne utrolige reisen kommer snart i bokform, der leseren vil få et sjeldent innblikk bak kulissene i historien til dette verket.

Historien begynner som et bestillingsverk fra Fylkesvaraordfører Natalia Golis der penger fra verket skal gå til barnebruder via innsamlingsaksjonen «Plan Norge - Barn, Ikke Brud» Verket tok 4 måneder å fullføre og er en blanding av fotografi og DGA (Digital Art) Prosessen med idé, konsept og utførelse er i sin helhet gjengitt i boken - «Naledi - Barnebruden / «Return To Innocence»

Verket er omsvøpt i mystikk, men for å ikke ta fra originalidéen om å samle inn midler til hjelp for barnebruder, velges det å holde verket åpent for tolkning enn så lenge.

«Papillon er en organisasjon som styrker unge krysskulturell unge mennesker til å stå i egne valg gjennom å blant annet tilby en møteplass, nettverksbygging og veiledning. Vi skal videre fungere som brobygger i samfunnet og bidra til sosial inkludering som i sin tur bidrar til opplevelse av fellesskap og tilhørighet.»

As to avoid any misunderstandings in regards to the artwork.

The artwork is a commissioned work for the biggest annual national fundraising campaign in Norway to help childbrides around the world. The fundraiser collected 262,7 million NOK to the cause.

The first version of the image was considered to be "too light" in conveying the message of the terror that young childbrides experience. After reading 8 books on the subject, interviewing people with 1. hand experience and investigating the theme from different perspectives with groups of people, a motive with a stronger message was conceptualised. The artwork shows a young Norwegian childbride. It is important to realise that child marriages happen all around the world, including Norway, although illegally. The "western" childmarriages often escape public attention for some odd reason and we are left with stereotype images of "3rd world problems". The image addresses this as to exclude biased propaganda. The main message of the image is supposed to be very clear :

The image portrays a strong female who is fighting for her rights. Her right to be a child. "Generations in the back holding a broken heart (puzzlepiece) in front of the childbride´s sex. By understanding (education) how terribly wrong it is to force young children into marriage, and by collective work and resources, there is a choice and a chance to put the broken heart together again and stop the "bleeding". The image is a mix of photography and D.G.A. (digital art) and skin is digitally painted. There is a lot of symbols in the imagery that will be explained in the coming book about the artpiece, all of them conveying messages for a better world for children.
